Countdown to PSLE 24hours time!!!!

Hello 6Jrians,

That’s it…..In about less than 23 hours, all of you will be giving your best shot at your  commom battlefield!!! I am so excited for all of you. I hope you are all confident and ready . I trust that you are mentally well prepared. All you need to do now is to stay focus…. apply whatever you have learnt and show the examiners what you’ve got. 6J. You have what it takes. Just show it.. and show your BEST!!!

Dear class, you can never imagine how exhilarated I felt when I finished marking the last worksheet and for a moment, I was thinking…. what can I do next. WOW!!! No more going after you for worksheets, to make sure that you understand the rules of grammar… Hahaahah I am just kidding… of course you can come to me to ask for an explanation to the rules…. However, I must confess that I feel a tinge of sadness. The reality that you are all graduating is beginning to sink in.

Anyway. It has been fun though frustrating at times but overall…… It has been a great 2 years.

Pre PSLE sentiments!!!

Dear Class,

I am feeling the jitters for the up and coming exams. Just like many of you….. I am concerned because many of you don not demonstate the sense of urgency to question and ask for solutions/explanations as to why a word or phrase is used. Seriously class, one of the best way to learn is through questioning. Do not take everything that comes to you. YOu should always ask why things are done in a certain way. Why can’t in be done in another manner……. It is only then that you will think and understand… Think about it.

 Another worry that I have is your breakfast. I know that many of you do not or cannot take breakfast  too early in the morning. My advice is that you cannot go to an exam with an empty stomach as the gastric juices will definitely work against your stomach walls. It is detrimental in the long run……. slowly eroding your lining…. Don’t risk! Do at least take a cup of Milo, some plain bread and if you can stomach it….. eggs and sausages?????

Post Prelims sentiments…..

Dear 6jrians,

Hello everybody….. It’s great that our Prelims Exams is finally over, right? Now’s the time to face the results and be brave about it ok? I know many of you have put in a lot of effort. I can see it in your booklet B and compositions. Even the markers mentioned that many of you have made great efforts to impress the markers through your writing. I am very proud of you.

I could see that many of you were disappointed over the Maths results…. Please be positive about it and try your best to find out what the reason was for the marks that you are getting.

Ask yourself these questions.

1) Have you been over confident for the questions /topics that you thought you would be able to handle?

2) HAve you overlooked certain procedures that you should have carried out in theprocess of answering the questions?

3) Have you practiced / come across simolar questions but yet you felt too cumbersome/ tired to try out till you know the steps completely?

Ultimately, my message to all 6jrians is “DO NOT GIVE UP! THE GAME IS NOT OVER !” Seriously, the ultimate is your PSLE………

All the best my class. I have confidence in all of you because I can see your fighting spirit!!!

National Day Weekend Homework

How is everyone? Just a little update for your homework this long weekend.

1. Synthesis and Tranformation revision Test 1 to 10.

TRy not to look at the answers at the back as it defeats the purpose for the practice. Only check if you are really unsure.

I will take time to explain to you on Monday.

PSLE ORAL EXAM TEAM NUMBERS

THe PSLE oral exam team numbers are out and the day and time for reporting will be pasted on the class notice board. I will also remind and go through the list in class today. Please take note of the important exam!!!!

P6 Prelims EL and CL Listening Compre is on 7 Aug!!!

Dear Children,

Apologies for the lack of update of homework last weekend.

YOu were to complete the St Margaret;s Booklet A and I have already gone throught the corrections in class ob Monday. Please take it home and let your parents sign the paper so that they can see which are your strength and weaknesses. For the St Margaret’s paper, there is no booklet B.

We will try to complete our compo 7 in class today for those who have no time to complete your compo last FRiday.

We will also do a LC practice tomorrow to get everyone in gear for next week’s LC. Press on everybody!!!

How did your Physical fitness test go??? Congratulations to those who scored Gold! Some of the boys were really great. Their score for shuttle run were below 10 seconds! Hmmmm , I wonder how they train themselves to run like the wind. Any way, rest well and remember that you nees to complete the homework below for today.

Prelims Oral

Dear children,

I have yet to get feedback from the teachers about how the girls did yesterday. However, once I have received news, I will update everyone.

When you attempt an oral test. IT is important that you talk and elaborate on points relevant to the picture, relevant to the questions asked by your examiners. Do not fall into the trap of preparing your”speech” too well during  your silent reading that you get into the act of regurgitating what you have planned. Remember that alright?
